Su Yin ANAND

Su Yin Anand is currently the co-founder of Ship Shape Strategies, a business advisory firm serving corporates and startups in the maritime and commodities sectors.
She started her career as a maritime lawyer focusing on dispute resolution and compliance, and was subsequently Head of Shipping for Australian mining house, South32. At the age of 34, she was the youngest Asian female to be made Partner of a leading international maritime law firm, and at the age of 36, named as a Top 10 maritime lawyer internationally by Lloyd’s List.
She has accumulated almost 20 years of experience in an industry she is passionate about, and has lived in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and London. Her passion for the industry has led to a focus on driving inclusion and being a voice for attracting talent to the industry. This is seen through her founding of the Young Professionals in Shipping Network (Hong Kong), a platform for driving thought leadership amongst professionals in the maritime and logistics industries in Hong Kong and China, and The Captain’s Table Innovation Challenge, the ‘Shark’s Tank’ of the maritime industry.
She is also a board member of Hafnia, an affiliate of BW Group.
Outside of work, Su Yin is an avid runner, tennis player, and loves a good karaoke session although her preference is for belting out tunes in Mandarin and Cantonese.
