Industry survey on maritime decarbonisation

A copy of the survey can be found below.

The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to help the maritime industry eliminate GHG emissions by shaping standards, deploying solutions, financing projects, and fostering collaboration across sectors. GCMD and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have co-developed this industry survey to better understand shipowners’ and operators’ perspectives on:

  1. Current & planned adoption of various decarbonisation technologies (e.g. technologicalefficiency levers, transition & future fuels, and shipboard carbon capture)

  2. Decision criteria, motivations, and challenges faced when evaluating and deploying suchtechnologies

  3. Economic and operational trade-offs when adopting such technologies

  4. Potential enablers that could accelerate broader adoption

The survey will take about 30–45 minutes to complete and, in some cases, may involve the collation of information from multiple individuals residing across different teams. The ideal respondent would be a senior person with an overview of both the technical and economic considerations when adopting green technologies, as some questions would require the respondent to be familiar with the abatement potential and performance of various technologies.
