Chen LI
Associate, Research & Projects

A marine engineer by training, Li has 15 years of work experience in the marine industry, having spent some of that as a marine engineer on ocean-going ships, servicing and operating onboard machineries. Before pivoting to the research sector, he worked with engine suppliers and was responsible for engineering and technical aspects. He was involved in project management, including creating project frameworks, establishing project criteria, coordinating with stakeholders, and preparing field test plans. Li credits his intensive involvement in system commissioning with sharpening his practical experiences and skills.
Prior to joining GCMD, Li was a research engineer at the Maritime Energy & Sustainable Development Center at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). His interests are in decarbonisation solutions, alternative fuels, and technology deployments.
Li graduated from NTU with a Master's degree from the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
